<Isaiah 3:11
(What becomes of a society- including a household- when youths & women are the influences)

The quality of a father can be seen in the goals, dreams and aspirations he sets not only for himself, but for his family [Reed Markham]

1 Chronicles 7:30
[Story of Asher (means happy) on how he leads his family]

What it is to be a good father:

1. Good father raises sons who are leaders in the home.
2. Good father raises children who are excellent.
– it takes being involved in the lives of your children
– it always starts with the character of the person

1 Chronicles 1:40
(excellence does run in the family)

3. Good father raises children who are warriors.
– teaches children to fight for the right reasons— for something important.

4. Good father raises children who become mentors.

1 Chronicles 7:40
(how the children of Asher became heads of the princes)

– make decisions in front of your children.
– disciple to your children, to make them disciples themselves.

2 Timothy 2:2
(fathers themselves must have spirituality to teach spirituality to their children)

… it takes bravery from the father, to raise brave children.

1 Corinthians 11:3 (who the head of the household is: of man- Christ; of woman- man; of Christ- God)

Three Important Elements in setting direction of your family:

1. Vision
– directing your family with choices in life
2. Motivation
– what fires a man up to get the family going
3. Preparation
– what to do to get somewhere (goals, dreams)
– what a man dreams for his family to bring them to a certain direction.
